RISE TO THE OCCASION OF YOUR TEXT!
What began as a pandemic-era adjustment has become a beloved staple of our season, the now-annual tradition of mounting Shakespeare’s work on our outdoor stage. Cast members will learn to analyze classic text, relating the stories to their present-day experiences, and discovering how accessible these works can truly be. The Shakespeare audition process is open to performers of all ages, although those who audition are not guaranteed a role.
It’s a fast-paced tale of mistaken identities, near misses, and chaotic reunions! THE COMEDY OF ERRORS follows not one but two sets of identical twins, both separated at birth, whose unexpected encounters in the bustling city of Ephesus set off a chain of misunderstandings, accusations, and absurd mishaps. A new generation of performers will dive headfirst into the dizzying world of slapstick, wordplay, and razor-sharp wit. Beneath the laughter is a story of family and fate that leads to - believe it or not - a Shakespearean happy ending.
